Cold pressed end connection techniques

Cold pressed terminals belong to the category of connectors and serve as a link between wires and equipment in the operation of electrical equipment. With the refinement and development of industrial control and electrical power, more and more cold pressed terminals are installed on equipment. What precautions should be taken when using cold pressed terminals?
1、 It is necessary to have a thorough understanding of the cold pressed terminals to be operated and be familiar with their operating methods to ensure correct operation; For cold pressed terminals that do not have anti misoperation measures, color codes or markings should be used to identify them, or whether the appropriate model corresponds before connection, and ensure correct positioning when connecting to each other; Special attention should be paid to preventing incorrect insertion and connection of pin sockets, otherwise it will damage the cold pressed terminals and cause accidental electrical contact; It should be ensured that the cold pressed terminals are properly connected. In special situations where inspection is not easy, detailed provisions should be made in the corresponding operating procedures, and inspection can be carried out through a endoscope.
2、 When terminating cold pressed terminals, they should be strictly terminated and inspected in accordance with the corresponding termination specifications or requirements, and terminated according to the corresponding node number. The maximum insulation layer thickness between the selected cable wires should match the spacing between the contacts, and the cable core should match the terminal of the contacts. When the contacts are crossed or connected, it should be handled.
3、 When welding, the corresponding power of the electric soldering iron should be selected based on the diameter of the bare wire. The welding time for each contact should generally not exceed 5 seconds. It should be noted not to allow the flux to penetrate the insulation to avoid a decrease in the insulation resistance of the product.
4、 When the cold pressed terminals are in a separate state, protective caps should be installed or other dust prevention measures should be taken separately; If the cold pressed terminal is not separated for a long time after connection, a fuse can be installed between the plug and socket.
5、 When cleaning cold pressed wiring terminals, a silk cloth dipped in anhydrous ethanol can be used, and then dried before use. It is not allowed to use chemical solvents such as acetone that may have harmful effects on the connector.
6、 When connecting or separating cold pressed terminals, it is advisable to make the axial lines of the plug and socket coincide as much as possible, and to straighten the cable to avoid the plug being subjected to tangential force and prevent cable sagging from causing damage to the connector.
7、 Cold pressed terminals must not be energized until they are properly connected or fully locked.
8、 In situations such as fixing cold pressed terminals and clamping wire harnesses, there should be anti loosening devices (anti loosening screws, anti loosening rings, fuses, etc.) when using threaded connections.
9、 When accepting and testing cold pressed terminals, they should be carried out in accordance with relevant product standards and user instructions. Acceptance and inspection of electrical connectors that have been used should be carried out based on the relevant product standards and user manuals, with reduced requirements. The cold pressed terminals of the used tooling should be intact and have qualified performance; The probe should meet the standard requirements, otherwise it may cause damage to the socket.
Cold pressed end, also known as "industrial rice", is ubiquitous in the field of electrical connections. Standardized use and frequent maintenance can greatly assist in the operation of electrical equipment; If the installation is not standardized, it may also cause equipment short circuits, open circuits, and there is a risk of damage to electrical equipment. The cold pressed terminals in the text are also known as wiring noses or copper noses. The product shapes can be divided into O-shaped and U-shaped, and there are also differences between products with and without insulation sleeves.
